Elbow, wrist & hand pain

Grip, type and lift without the ache.

Elbow and wrist pain is common with desk work, phone use, sport and lifting. Most of it settles with the right treatment and a few changes.

In short

Can physiotherapy help elbow, wrist and hand pain?

Yes. Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, De Quervain's and most other wrist and hand pain respond well to physiotherapy. At GetFysio in Koramangala, Bengaluru, we find the source of your pain, ease it, and rebuild tendon and grip strength, with practical changes to how you work and train.

Sounds familiar?

You might recognise some of this.

Your hands, wrists and elbows work all day: typing, scrolling, carrying and lifting. Small, repeated strains add up, and tendon pain in particular can hang around for months if it is only rested.

We identify what is causing your pain, ease it, and rebuild the strength and habits that keep it away.

  • Pain on the outside or inside of the elbow when you grip or lift
  • Pain at the base of the thumb when you pick up your phone or a child
  • Tingling or numbness in the fingers, especially at night
  • Wrist pain from typing, using a mouse or weight training
  • A wrist that has not felt right since a fall
How we treat it

Three parts, one plan.

  1. 01

    Find the source

We check the elbow, wrist and neck, because nerve and tendon problems can feel alike. Then we look at your work set-up, sport and daily tasks.

  2. 02

    Hands-on care and technology

Manual therapy and, where useful, bracing or taping. Shockwave can help long-standing tennis or golfer's elbow, and laser can ease painful tendons.

  3. 03

    Load and ergonomics

Progressive tendon and grip strengthening, with practical changes to your desk, phone and training habits so the pain does not return.

Typical timeline

What recovery usually looks like.

Everyone is different. After your assessment we will give you your own estimate, and review it as you progress.

  1. Weeks 1–4

Settle pain, adjust how you work and train, and start gentle loading.

  2. Weeks 4–12

Build grip and tendon strength, and return to normal use.

  3. 3 months +

Long-standing tendon pain can take longer. We will keep your plan moving and tell you if you need a specialist opinion.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I get tennis elbow if I do not play tennis?

Yes. Most people with tennis elbow do not play tennis. It is usually caused by repeated gripping, typing or lifting.

Will a brace fix it?

A brace can reduce pain in the short term. Strengthening the tendon is what usually leads to lasting recovery.

Do I need a nerve test for tingling in my fingers?

Not always. We will assess your symptoms and tell you if a nerve conduction test or a doctor's review would help.
