How does physiotherapy help sports injuries?
Physiotherapy helps you recover from a sports injury and return to training safely. At GetFysio in Koramangala, Bengaluru, we treat the injury, look at your training load and technique, and take you through a staged return-to-sport plan with clear markers for each step.

You might recognise some of this.
Sports injuries rarely come from one bad moment. Training load, recovery, strength and technique all play a part. That is why we look beyond the sore spot to understand what your body is being asked to do, and what it needs to cope with it.
Our aim is simple: get you back to the sport you love, with the strength and confidence to stay there.
- A sprained ankle or knee that still does not feel right
- Pain that starts part-way into a run or training session
- Tendon pain in the heel, knee, hip or elbow
- A muscle strain that keeps coming back
- Unsure whether it is safe to train, or how much
Three parts, one plan.
- 01
Assess the whole picture
We look at the injury and at how you move in your sport, your training load and your recovery, because most sports injuries have more than one cause.
- 02
Hands-on care and technology
Manual therapy and modern equipment to settle pain and restore movement early, so you can start loading the injury sooner.
- 03
Progressive return to sport
A staged plan that rebuilds strength, power and confidence, with clear markers for when you are ready for each next step.
- Shockwave therapyAcoustic pulses for stubborn tendon and heel pain.
- High-intensity laser therapyFocused light to ease pain and inflammation.
- Electrotherapy (TENS and IFT)Gentle electrical currents for pain relief.
Only when your assessment shows it will help, and always alongside hands-on care and exercise.
What recovery usually looks like.
Everyone is different. After your assessment we will give you your own estimate, and review it as you progress.
- Early phase
Protect the injury, settle pain and keep the rest of you moving.
- Rebuild
Restore strength and control, then add speed and sport-specific work.
- Return
Back to full training and competition, with a plan to reduce the risk of it happening again.
Common questions.
Can I keep training while I recover?
Often, yes, with changes. We will tell you what you can safely keep doing and what to pause, so you lose as little fitness as possible.
How soon should I come in after an injury?
As soon as you can. Early advice helps you avoid doing too much or too little, both of which can slow recovery.
Do you work with runners?
Yes. We assess running injuries in detail and give you a plan for your training, not just the injury.
