Neurological conditions

Physiotherapy for neurological conditions.

Neurological physiotherapy helps you rebuild movement, balance and independence. We work with you and your family, one step at a time.

In short

How can physiotherapy help neurological conditions?

Neurological physiotherapy helps people living with stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and nerve or spinal conditions to move, balance and live more independently. At GetFysio in Koramangala, Bengaluru, we set practical goals with you and your family and work towards them one step at a time.

Sounds familiar?

You might recognise some of this.

A neurological condition affects the whole family. Whether it follows a sudden event like a stroke or develops over time, like Parkinson’s or multiple sclerosis, progress often comes in small steps, and consistent practice matters as much as time with a physiotherapist.

We set clear, realistic goals with you, explain the reasons behind every exercise, and make sure you and your family feel confident continuing the work at home.

  • Recovering from a stroke or a head injury
  • Living with Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis
  • Weakness, numbness or poor coordination after a spinal cord or nerve injury
  • Difficulty with walking, balance or getting up from a chair
  • Worried about falls, for yourself or a family member
  • Looking for a structured plan after hospital discharge
How we treat it

Three parts, one plan.

  1. 01

    A detailed neurological assessment

We assess movement, strength, balance, coordination and everyday tasks, and we listen to what matters most to you and your family.

  2. 02

    Hands-on care and technology

Hands-on techniques and task-specific training, supported by modern equipment, to help retrain movement, build strength and improve balance.

  3. 03

    Practice that fits your life

A home programme designed around your routine, with clear guidance for family members and carers on how to help safely.

What recovery usually looks like.

Everyone is different. After your assessment we will give you your own estimate, and review it as you progress.

  1. Start

Assessment, clear goals and a safe home programme from the first visit.

  2. Build

Regular sessions to improve movement, balance and confidence in daily tasks.

  3. Maintain

Ongoing reviews to keep progress going and adapt the plan as needs change.

FAQ

Common questions.

Which neurological conditions do you treat?

We work with people recovering from stroke and head injury, and with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, nerve injuries and other conditions that affect movement and balance. If you are unsure, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Can I come with a family member?

Yes, and we encourage it. Family members often play a big part in daily practice, and we will show them how to help safely.

How soon after a stroke should rehab start?

Rehabilitation usually starts as soon as it is medically safe. Progress is often fastest in the early months, but improvement can continue for much longer.
